Overuse of social media top parental concern: Study

MICHIGAN: According to the University of Michigan most of the parents worldwide are worried about the negative effect of overuse of social media which is affecting the mental health of their children.

Overall, emotional health and technology use topped this year’s top ten list of parent concerns about health-related issues for children in the world, surpassing childhood obesity, which parents ranked as the top children’s health issue a decade ago.

“The main concern of the parents is about the social media and screen time affecting the mental health of their children.” the study concluded.
