NEW DELHI: PM Modi flagged off the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor, the country’s first semi-high-speed regional train service, in Ghaziabad on October 20. The Namo Bharat trains will start chugging in a section of the project from October 21.
Modi inaugurated a 17-km priority section between Sahibabad and Duhai Depot, while the entire 82.15-km RRTS corridor will be fully operational around June 2025.
The RRTS corridor will have 24 stations, while the priority section has five stations – Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, and the Duhai Depot.
The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS will boast a 180 kmph design speed, the first of its kind rolling stock in India for the regional transit system.
On the X platform it was mentioned , “PM @narendramodi is on board the Regional Rapid Train Namo Bharat with co-passengers who are sharing their experiences, including on how this train service will have a positive impact.”
