NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep grief over the tragic loss of lives at the Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza even as US President Joe Biden, who visited Israel, said Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has agreed to open Rafah crossing into Gaza to allow first batch of around 20 humanitarian aid trucks through.
In a post on X, PM Modi said: “Deeply shocked at the tragic loss of lives at the Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza. Our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, and prayers for speedy recovery of those injured. Civilian casualties in the ongoing conflict are a matter of serious and continuing concern. Those involved should be held responsible.” Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak was set to travel to Israel in the region in an effort to deescalate the Israel-Gaza conflict.
