KOCHI: The much- needed eco-friendly toilets and lavatories in Ayodhya has come all the way from the southernmost state of Kerala.
A Kerala firm has installed more than 500 bio-toilets in Ayodhya to mark the grand occasion of the consecration of Ram Temple. The company has also been entrusted with the responsibility under the Swachh Bharat Mission to take care and maintain the installations for the next one year.
The startup company from Kerala, Indian Centrifuge Engineering Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (ICF) with its manufacturing unit at SIDCO industrial estate, a major hub of small scale industries in Kerala, is in Kottayam district.
When lakhs of people visit Ayodhya to visit Ram Mandir they would surely find the clean bio-toilets a big help owing to its affordability and access. The installation and delivery of the bio-toilets were completed in a record time of 60 days to keep up with the deadline of the consecration ceremony.
“We are glad to be part of this historic work. When people across the world come to visit Ayodhya, Kerala will be proud that we have a role in their comfortable stay and visit. We specialise in bio-toilets. We also produce treatment systems for places where there is no basic infrastructure such as chemical toilets, hand wash stations, water-free urinals and shower cabins,” Sambhunath Sasikumar, Managing Director, said.
This startup company also provides bio-toilets to other religious destinations like Sabarimala where lakhs of devotees visit every day during the month of December and January every year.
