MUMBAI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde inaugurated the ‘Namo Rojgar Melava 2024’, on March 2 to foster employment opportunities in the state.

On this occasion, he emphasised the Government’s commitment to depoliticising development initiatives, showcasing stalwarts from diverse political factions of Baramati, including Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar and Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar.

Acknowledging Ajit Pawar’s contributions to developmental endeavours in Baramati, Fadnavis lauded new infrastructure projects, including the new State Transport (ST) bus depot and the police commissionerate building. Sharad Pawar was included in the guest list at the last moment as a reconciliatory gesture though the seating arrangement, with Ajit Pawar stationed away from him, captured the dynamics of the power equation.

Cashing in on the presence of the elder Pawar, CM Shinde said, “Today, we have Pawar saheb (Sharad Pawar) as well as Ajit Pawar sitting on the dais, which shows that we (Government) won’t bring politics in executing developmental projects.”

The sentiment was echoed by Fadnavis, too, who said, “The new buildings, especially the one for police personnel, look very sophisticated. The new police building resembles a corporate office. I think government buildings should get a new look.”
