Team Blitz India
The Indian diaspora in the US is closely following India’s parliamentary elections, despite being unable to vote themselves. The Overseas Friends of BJP-USA (OFBJPUSA) has been actively engaging its members to support BJP candidates back home. They have organised webinars with 32 BJP candidates from across India, encouraging members to call relatives and friends in India to vote for the BJP, according to the organization’s co-president in a recent interview with IANS.
To bolster the BJP’s prospects, supporters of OFBJP-USA have organised yagnas at temples in eight locations across the US. Shubho Dasgupta clarified that these yagnas were conducted by individual supporters and not by the temples themselves.
In addition to these spiritual efforts, OFBJP-USA has organised car rallies in four locations as of early May to stimulate interest in the elections. These activities aim to underscore the importance of voting for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s party, which they view as critical for India’s future.
OFBJP-USA also organised webinars with aim to spread awareness in both the US and India, bringing BJP candidates into discussions to share their insights and receive support. Notable participants in these webinars include BJP Lok Sabha member Dilip Ghosh, K Annamalai, and Madhavi Latha.
