Adani Enterprises Ltd on June 11 announced that its subsidiary, Adani Defence & Aerospace, has entered into a cooperation agreement with UAE-based EDGE Group. This strategic partnership aims to create a robust platform, leveraging the strengths of both companies to address the needs of both global and local markets.

“The agreement aims to establish a global platform leveraging the defence and aerospace capabilities of both companies to bring together their respective product portfolios and cater to the requirements of global and local customers,” Adani Enterprises said in an official statement.

The cooperation involves evaluating collaboration across the core product domains of both companies. This includes a wide range of missile and weapon systems for airborne, surface, and infantry use, as well as ammunition and air defence products. Additionally, it covers platforms and systems for unmanned aerial systems, loitering munitions, counter-drone systems, unmanned ground vehicles, electronic warfare, and cyber technologies.

Moreover, the partnership will explore the establishment of research and development (R&D) facilities in both India and the UAE. This includes setting up development, production, and maintenance facilities to cater to the defence and aerospace solutions required by the two countries, as well as the broader Southeast Asian and global markets.

Ashish Rajvanshi, CEO of Adani Defence & Aerospace, highlighted the significance of this collaboration. “Our collaboration marks the beginning of a new era in enhancing defence capabilities, emphasising our commitment to advance technological prowess and promoting bilateral defence cooperation between India and the UAE,” he said.

Echoing similar sentiments, Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director and CEO of EDGE Group, underscored their commitment to innovation. “The agreement reflects our dedication to bringing our customers the most advanced and sophisticated products to the market, while taking advantage of the global export potential, including UAE-grown technology,” he noted.

This partnership signifies a major step forward in the defence sector, aiming to merge the technological advancements and strategic interests of both nations to create a formidable global presence.
