NEW DELHI: British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has labelled Reform UK leader Nigel Farage “spineless” and accused him of failing to adequately explain reports of racist and antisemitic comments it is alleged he made while at school, reported BBC. The Guardian reported that Farage made antisemitic remarks at a fellow pupil at the private Dulwich College in south London and taught younger pupils racist songs. It is also alleged the now Reform UK leader put another pupil in detention when he was a prefect, because of the colour of their skin.

The newspaper has spoken to 20 people who have claimed to them they were either a victim of, or witness to, racial abuse by Farage over a six- year period. Reform UK insist the allegations are “entirely without foundation”. Reacting to Sir Keir’s comments, Farage said, “For the weakest Prime Minister in living memory to call me spineless is utterly ludicrous”. He added, “The voters will have their say on both of us at the ballot box next May.”

Speaking to reporters on his way to the G20 Summit in South Africa, the PM claimed Farage “needs to explain the comments, or alleged comments that were made, and he needs to do that as soon as possible”. Starmer added that the Reform leader “has not got a good track record in relation to this,” given one of Reform’s MPs remained in the parliamentary party after remarks she made about the ethnicity of people in television adverts.
