NEW DELHI: In a bid to provide a platform for trade, knowledge exchange and business networking, the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has facilitated participation of more than 35 international buyers from 13 key overseas markets in the country.
Buyers from Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Mongolia and Egypt, among others, represented leading importers, distributors, wholesalers and retail chains — participating in structured Buyer-Seller Meets (BSMs) with Indian exhibitors to foster business partnerships, explore new sourcing opportunities and promote long-term export collaborations, according to Commerce Ministry.
The ministry, in collaboration with Nuernberg Messe India, is organising ‘BIOFACH INDIA 2026’ from August 6-8 at the India Expo Centre and Mart (IEML) in Greater Noida.
The event features more than 200 exhibiting companies, including over 60 exhibitors participating under the APEDA Pavilion.
Katikithala Srinivas, Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, said the organic sector offers significant opportunities to enhance India’s agricultural exports while creating greater market opportunities for farmers and enterprises.
“Such platforms provide an important avenue for showcasing India’s diverse range of certified organic products, facilitating engagement with international buyers, strengthening India’s presence in global organic markets, promoting sustainable agricultural practices and supporting greater value realisation across the organic value chain,” according to the statement.
Representing exporters, women entrepreneurs, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs), startups and organic enterprises, the APEDA Pavilion showcases a diverse range of certified organic products from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya and Mizoram.
