NEW DELHI: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on August 15 announced that 2027 will be celebrated as the “Year of Youth” in the state, focusing on seven key areas — education, skill development, entrepreneurship, employment, startups, sports and leadership — to ensure the holistic development of the state’s young population.
Addressing a state-level event at the Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal after hoisting the national Àag and taking the salute of the parade, the Chief Minister said the state Government has already recruited more than 85,000 youth into Government service. “Going forward, more than one lakh young people will be provided employment opportunities in the public sector every year.”
The target is to enrol more than one lakh youth in ITIs next year and train 10,000 youth annually at the Global Skill Park, he added.
A separate placement cell will also be set up to coordinate between industries and jobseeking youth, the CM said. He noted that after observing 2025 as the ‘Year of Investment and Employment’ and 2026 as the ‘Year of Farmer Welfare’, the focus now shifts to empowering the next generation.
He announced the launch of the “Chief Minister’s Public Trust Campaign” on August 7, 2026, with the slogan “No Delay, No Distance”, aimed at resolving public grievances promptly.
The ¿rst phase will run until January 8, 2027. Highlighting economic progress, Yadav said the state has presented a Rs 4.38 lakh crore budget for 2026-27, 10 per cent higher than the previous year.
