NEW DELHI: The Art Dubai 17th edition is set to take place from March 1 to 3 at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai. Under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, VicePresident and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the fair aims to be a meeting point for the creative communities of the Global South. The event will feature new commissions, premieres, and extensive educational programmes, establishing Art Dubai as more than a commercial platform.
The fair will present newly commissioned performances centered on themes of healing, hope, and the transformative power of art in challenging times. The 17th edition of the Global Art Forum, Art Dubai’s flagship summit, will explore the relationship between extreme weather and extreme change. The fair will also host an extensive talks programme, featuring Modern and Collector Talks in collaboration with Dubai Collection, the first institutional art collection for the city of Dubai.
The ARM Holding Children’s Programme, initiated by artist Sahil Naik, will be its largest edition, reaching over 100 schools and 15,000 students.
Additionally, the premiere of ‘Heart Space,’ a significant new commission by digital artist Krista Kim, presented by Julius Baer as part of their global NEXT initiative, adds to the diverse and innovative offerings at Art Dubai.
Art Dubai’s commitment to scholarship is evident in the Modern and Collector Talks, providing historical context to the grouping of artists in the fair’s Modern section. The fair also continues its commitment to education with the A.R.M. Holding Children’s Programme, Campus Art Dubai (CAD) professional development and traineeship programme, and other talks, workshops, and events.
The Commissions section will feature new performances, films, and activations exploring themes of hope, community, and the power of art to navigate challenging times. A newly commissioned digital installation, ‘Heart Space,’ by Canadian-Korean artist Krista Kim will be presented by Swiss Wealth Management Group Julius Baer.
Returning partner Piaget will debut a new exhibition, ‘The House of Gold,’ spotlighting gold as the ultimate luxury and symbol of perfection. The presentation will feature high-end jewellery and watches, patrimony pieces, private collections, and newly commissioned artworks.
The fair is held in partnership with ARM Holding and is sponsored by Julius Baer, with Piaget as the exclusive high jewellery and watch partner
