New Delhi: PHDCCI’s ‘Create in India’ mission got off to a flying start on April 8 with its animation fest, PixElated 2023. More than 500 delegates, largely comprising students of animation, visual effects, graphics and multimedia courses in Delhi NCR participated in what is being hailed by industry leaders as Delhi’s first animation festival.
Behind-the-scene visual effects of international webshows like ‘Stranger Things 4’, which streams on Netflix, and ‘The Legend of Hanuman’, which streams on Disney Plus Hotstar, were the highlights of the festival.
Kanchan Prasad, Additional Director General, Prasar Bharti, was the Chief Guest at the inaugural session. She promised all support to the animation industry to aide its growth.
Sandeep Marwah, Chairman of PHDCCI’s Entertainment and AVGC Committee; Co-chairs Charuvi Agrawal and Vrinda Sood; Saurabh Sanyal, CEO & Secretary General, PHDCCI; Sanjay Khimesara, President of partner organisation in animation, Asifa India, which is a Unesco-supported global NGO; Subodh Sachan, Director, STPINext; Mohit Soni, CEO, Media Entertainment Skill Council; Saraswati Vani Balgam, Founder, Dancing Atoms; Manoj Mishra, CEO, Powerkids Entertainment and heads of leading animation, gaming and VFX companies participated in the festival.
