NEW DELHI: King of Bhutan Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, who is on a two-day visit to India, met Prime Minister Modi in New Delhi. The meeting took place at the official residence of the Prime Minister. In this meeting, discussions were held to strengthen the relations between the two countries.
Before meeting the Prime Minister, the Bhutanese King paid homage at the Samadhi of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, at Rajghat. The King of Bhutan will also call on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Bhutan’s Prime Minister Lotay Tshering had recently said in a statement that China also has a role to play in resolving the Doklam dispute. In this backdrop, the visit of the King of Bhutan to India has acquired great significance.
