Days after the United Arab Emirates witnessed flooding in April, heavy rainfall returned to the emirates, leading to the cancellation of several flights and forcing the closure of schools. Authorities have asked students to study from home, while offices have been instructed to operate remotely. Parts of Abu Dhabi and Dubai again witnessed waterlogging. An orange alert was issued on May 2 as heavy rain and thunderstorms lashed the country.
