NEW DELHI: Through the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY), the Central Government has engaged in taking the welfare schemes to every eligible person at their door. The Information, Education and Communication (IEC) vans included in the yatra are running awareness campaigns from city to city, village to village.
The vans have so far reached over one lakh Gram panchayats. Nearly 4.5 crore people have participated in VBSY and more than three crore people have pledged to make a developed India. In a significant milestone demonstrating provisioning of healthcare services to the last mile following the philosophy of ‘Antyodaya’, there has been more than 2 crore footfalls at the health camps being organised during the Yatra. The cumulative footfall has reached 2,10,24,874 in 1,08,500 Gram Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies.
Over 8.5 Lakh people screened for Sickle Cell Disease and more than 27,630 referred to higher Public Health Facilities With the help of this public awareness campaign, the Government is also playing an important role in making the journey from seed to market easier for the farmers. Farmers described the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) as very beneficial.
The Government is making tireless efforts to connect farmers with technology through the Yatra. Live demonstrations are being held throughout the campaign to show the use of drones to spray fertilisers and pesticides in the farmlands and how to check crops using drones. Farmers from the various states have witnessed drones testing their mustard crops, and were impressed by their efficiency. It made them realize that adopting this technology can save time and reduce labour costs.
