GOA: The picturesque state of Goa is set to host the much-anticipated India Energy Week (IEW) 2024, a landmark event in the global energy sector, scheduled from February 6 to 9. This year’s edition promises to be a confluence of ideas, innovations, and collaborations, drawing over 35,000 participants from more than 100 countries, including key industry leaders, policymakers, and energy experts.
IEW 2024, organised under the auspices of the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI) and the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, is not just an event but a futuristic vision. It aims to showcase India’s intricate energy landscape, characterised by a diverse energy mix and rapid strides in renewable energy, set against the backdrop of urbanization and economic development challenges, all while addressing climate change.
The event is poised to build on the foundations laid by its successful predecessor, IEW 2023, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This year, IEW 2024 seeks to amplify its impact by fostering partnerships, driving innovation, and exploring sustainable solutions to propel India’s energy sector into a vibrant future. The spotlight will demonstrate India’s dynamic decision-making in the face of global energy volatility, ensuring accessible, affordable, and clean energy to its citizens.
The Goa administration, in collaboration with the Central Government, is meticulously preparing for this global congregation. Special emphasis is being laid on creating world-class infrastructure support, efficient traffic management, and ensuring minimal disruption to local life. The Government of Goa is also providing 40 electric buses to reduce the event’s carbon footprint, along with designated areas for the disposal of sewage and other disposable waste, highlighting the sustainable ethos of the event.
One of the critical themes of IEW 2024 is the balance between energy security and energy transition, showcasing India as a viable template for the world. The event will feature an extensive array of exhibitors, covering core oil field services and reflecting the dynamism of the global energy sector.
