NEW DELHI: Georgia has become a hotbed for medical education, especially MBBS. According to a recent estimate, an upwards of 10,000 Indian students are enrolled in different educational institutions of Georgia.
The Government of India, throughthe Indian Council for Cultural Relations, also provides scholarships to Georgian nationals to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Indian Universities. The Kendriya Hindi Sansthan (KHS) offers scholarships to Georgians to study Hindi in India. An ICCR Chair of Contemporary Indian Studies was established at the Tbilisi State University for one year (2011-12).
Georgia presents a fantasy-like landscape with awe-inspiring medieval edifices scattered around the country and hauntingly beautiful landscapes. Therefore, it is no surprise that the country is also a popular destination for Indian film producers. Many Bollywood movies and dance sequences have been shot in Georgia.
