MHA scraps licences of two Sonia-led NGOs
NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has cancelled the FCRA registration of two NGOs headed by former Congress president Sonia Gandhi owing to irregularities, a senior Government official said on October 23. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and party General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are also associated with the NGOs. Registration under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act is mandatory to receive foreign funds.
Bombay Dyeing, Wadias barred from the market
MUMBAI: The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has barred 10 entities, including Bombay Dyeing & Manufacturing Company Limited and its promoters — Nusli N Wadia, Ness Wadia and Jehangir Wadia — from the securities markets for up to two years and levied a fine totalling Rs 15.75 crore on them for being involved in a fraudulent scheme of misrepresenting the company’s financial statements.
Amnesty scheme for properties in Capital
NEW DELHI: In a major relief to property owners across the national Capital, L-G Vinai Kumar Saxena on October 25 launched a one-time property amnesty scheme for residents of authorised and regularised colonies. People will have to pay the principal amount of the current and pending past five years for residential properties, and six years for commercial properties, and get a waiver on all pending dues, including penalty and interest.
Notice to TTE Secy on Yogshala’ programme
NEW DELHI: Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on October 25 issued a show- cause notice to the Secretary of Training and Technical Education for trying to stop the ‘Dilli ki Yogshala’ programme. The programme was announced by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal last year to provide free yoga instructors to the citizens of the Capital.
