NEW DELHI: In a grand state reception held on June 8 in New Delhi, the Russian Ambassador to India, Denis Alipov, reiterated the unwavering strength of the “special Russia-India strategic partnership” as the event commemorated the Russian Federation’s National Day, observed on June 12.
Ambassador Alipov voiced his concerns about the pervasive dissemination of misinformation about Russia, highlighting the deliberate efforts aimed at undermining the longstanding and deep-rooted relations between the two nations.
Those present included, Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Minister of State for the Ministry of External Affairs and Education, representing India, along with a notable gathering of high-ranking government officials. Esteemed ambassadors and military attaches from various embassies also participated in the event.
Notably, Ratheesh Nair, the Honorary Consul of Russia in Thiruvananthapuram, received the prestigious ‘Order of Friendship’ in recognition of his exceptional contributions to fostering bilateral ties between Russia and India.
The evening’s highlight was an enchanting performance by the Moscow Cossack Choir, accompanied by the graceful execution of traditional Russian folk songs and dance. The ensemble, supported by the Government of Moscow, captivated the audience, providing an immersive cultural experience.
The pinnacle of the festivities was a breathtaking fireworks display that illuminated the night sky with vivid bursts of colours and mesmerising patterns, providing a fitting finale to the Russia Day celebrations.
