KOCHI: The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will soon launch 41 interstate bus services from Kerala to Tamil Nadu. According to reports, KSRTC will employ its Volvo low-floor buses for the services.

The services will be available on the ‘routes’ entitled to Kerala as per the contract signed with Tamil Nadu in 2019. According to the contract, both states have the right to operate an equal number of buses for inter-state services. Therefore, KSRTC will provide services to regions including Coimbatore, Tenkasi, Theni, Cumbum, Udumalaipettai and Pollachi. Officials have been asked to commence the services at the earliest.

An AC low-floor bus will ply between Thrissur-Coimbatore while two additional AC low-floor buses will operate from Ernakulam depot. Two superfast buses will run services to Coimbatore via Kozhinjampara from the Thrissur and Guruvayur depots.

Thirty- eight fast passengers from various depots will operate as interstate services. Two new services will be provided from Chengannur-Tenkasi (via Sengottai). Similarly, two new services are on the cards between Ernakulam and Coimbatore. KSRTC will soon operate three additional services to Theni and Kambam and a new service to Udumalpet.
