MUMBAI: In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goals of self-reliance and Make in India, Maharashtra is poised to host its inaugural MSME defence expo from February 24 to 26 at Pune International Exhibition and Convention Centre, Moshi.
Organised by the Maharashtra Government and Nibe Limited, with support from strategic partners including L&T, Solar Industries, Tata Advance Systems, Bharat Forge, and DRDO, the expo will spotlight advancements in land, airspace, and maritime security systems.
The expo aims to fortify Maharashtra’s defence production sector, fostering academia-industry collaborations and driving economic growth. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde emphasised: “This expo underscores our commitment to fortifying the defence capabilities of our state.”
The event is expected to witness participation of more than 500 MSMEs, startups, and 20,000 engineering students. It will showcase cutting-edge technologies to foster industry synergy. A number of lucrative business opportunities and technology transfer agreements are anticipated to take place. The Indian Air Force plans to display its indigenous capabilities through the static display of newgeneration Advanced Light Helicopter MK-IV and Light Combat Helicopter, along with Aakash and SAMAR missile systems.
High-ranking officials at the expo will interact with participating industries to discuss future requirements and promote self-reliance. Moreover, the IAF will set up a publicity stall to attract youth to join its ranks and provide insights into promising career opportunities.
