NEW DELHI: The Embassy of Kuwait hosted a reception to celebrate the 64th National Day and 34th Liberation Day of the State of Kuwait, at the Leela Palace Hotel here on February 24. The event witnessed participation from Union Minister for Civil Aviation Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, as the Chief Guest, senior officials, diplomats, academics, business leaders and public figures.
Welcoming the guests, H.E. Meshal Mustafa Al-Shemali, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to India, extended his warmest congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of the State of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled AlHamad Al-Sabah, the Crown Prince, the esteemed Government, and the people of Kuwait.
In his message on the occasion, the Ambassador said since gaining independence in 1961, Kuwait has made tremendous strides in various sectors, under the visionary guidance of its leadership, ensuring a prosperous future, while upholding the values of peace, cooperation, and diplomacy.
He highlighted the deep-rooted and historic bilateral relations between Kuwait and India, which have spanned several decades, and built on a foundation of mutual respect, shared values, and a long history of trade, cultural exchange, and diplomatic engagement. He also noted that during the recent visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Kuwait, the two countries elevated their relationship to a strategic partnership and signed four Memorandums of Understanding in the fields of defence cooperation, cultural exchange, sports collaboration, and Kuwait’s inclusion in the International Solar Alliance.
On the occasion, the Embassy received several congratulatory messages from various Indian Government agencies and members of the diplomatic corps in New Delhi.
