Team Blitz India
RAS Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) and the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) have joined forces through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing business opportunities and driving economic growth between the UAE and India.
The agreement, sealed by RAKEZ Group CEO Ramy Jallad and ICC regional director Ratheesh Nair, facilitates mutual access and fosters opportunities for both nations.
The partnership seeks to integrate RAKEZ with the Indian business community leveraging the ICC’s extensive network. Moreover, it provides members of the Indian Chamber with valuable avenues to engage with and expand within the UAE market.
“Our active efforts in promoting the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with India through roadshows, investor meets, and regular exchanges have laid a robust and dependable groundwork for cultivating and sustaining partnerships with more Indian business groups,” Jallad emphasised.
ICC, known for its pivotal role in fostering trade, industry, and commerce within India, particularly in the Eastern and North-Eastern regions, has solidified its position in bilateral trade facilitation through its collaborative framework with the UAE-India CEPA Council.
“The UAE and India have long enjoyed a dynamic trade relationship. This MoU with RAKEZ opens new avenues for our members and Indian entrepreneurs to explore and establish their presence in one of the fastest-growing economic zones in the region,” said Rajeev Singh, director-general of the Indian Chamber, reflecting on the partnership. The UAE has solidified its position as a crucial trade partner for India, with nearly 6,000 Indian companies hosted within its premises, RAKEZ plays a pivotal role in enriching the UAE’s varied industrial milieu.
Demonstrating the commitment to bolstering economic relations, RAKEZ recently played host to a business delegation from the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ras Al Khaimah. The delegation engaged in discussions on business prospects and embarked on tours to significant locations within the emirate, further cementing the economic ties between the two nations.
