Team Blitz India
MUMBAI: After being appointed as the non-executive directors on the Reliance Board in August this year, all three children of Mukesh Ambani – Akash, Isha, and Anant – have now been inducted into the Reliance Board after the shareholders approved their appointment at a recent Board meeting.
The leadership process started in July after Mukesh Ambani was re-appointed as Chairman of the company for another five years.
Akash Ambani is the Chairperson of the telecom arm of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited. He has already played an effective role in the company and was a member of the team that brokered a $5.7 billion investment in 2020 by Meta Platforms in Jio Platforms.
Isha Ambani, his twin sister, is driving the expansion of Reliance Retail into new categories and geographies. She already holds the position of director on the boards of the retail unit, Reliance Retail Ventures. It marks Reliance’s footprint in India’s brick-and-mortar and e-commerce industries.
The youngest of the siblings, Anant, is a Director at Reliance’s new energy business, retail unit, as well as Jio platforms and its energy, and oil and chemical units.
Both Neeta and Mukesh Ambani raved about their children’s successful transition and the glorious path that lies ahead. Their business empire currently spans across telecom, retail, oil and gas, and new energy and holds a market value of more than $200 billion.
