NEW DELHI: Tesla and SpaceX chief Elon Muskhas postponed his India trip and may visit the country only after the elections sources in the know of the development told ET.
Confirming the development, Musk said: “Unfortunately, very heavy Tesla obligations require that the visit to India be delayed, but I do very much look forward to visiting later this year.”
Musk was scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi early next week. He was also scheduled to meet senior officials from the state governments where Tesla might set up an electric vehicle assembly unit and other space-tech startup executives.
The space-tech startup executives, who were scheduled to meet the Tesla chief on April 22, were informed on that their meeting with Musk stood cancelled.“We have not been told the new dates of the meeting. It may happen only after the elections,” a Government official told ET.
