NEW DELHI: Indian industry must compete with the Centre and emerge victorious on the path to achieving India’s dream of becoming Viksit Bharat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on July 30.
At the post-budget conference organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), PM Modi said that investors across the world are keen on coming to India and industry should not let go of this golden chance.
“My expectation from the industry is that it should go shoulder to shoulder and compete with the Centre to fulfil India’s dream towards Viksit Bharat,” he said. “I expect them to leave the government behind and emerge victorious in this,” PM Modi added.
PM Modi also said that he believes industry and wealth creators are the “primary driving force” in India’s growth story. Highlighting that there is no dearth of political willpower in the current Government, PM Modi said, “For us, the country and the aspirations of countrymen are the topmost priorities.”
He added that in a recent meeting, he asked Niti Aayog to come up with an Investor Friendly Charter for all states. “There should be a healthy competition between states to attract investment,” he said.
