Spreading its footprint beyond the national Capital, Blitz India made a grand entry in Mumbai. The highprofile launch function that coincided with the 110th birth anniversary of Blitz founder RK Karanjia, turned out to be a blockbuster. To apprise our readers of the deliberations at the event and the scale on which it was organised, we carry a report on the Back Page, besides giving a pictorial mention on the front. In the write-up below, we publish the gist of the document that reiterates the concept and elaborates on the guiding spirit behind Blitz India. The Centrepread is studded with photographs of the mega event.
Mumbai was the first stop in the panIndia journey of Blitz India. We plan to launch our newspaper from all major destinations in the country. We are also committed to spreading the message of inclusive development in all prominent regional languages. Keeping that in view, we have rejigged our content. Beginning this issue, Blitz India will devote two full pages to major developments from different states in the country. Also, as India readies to take over the presidency of G20 in a few weeks from now, there are fast-paced developments on this front. We’ll cover the significant ones among these in the new page that we have introduced. The issue also carries a one-off page on book review. With the addition of all these new elements, our regular features like Globetrotting and Newstrack have been given a break.
Coming to the week’s package, the Cover Story deals with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s plain speak with Russian President Vladimir that won accolades the world over and strengthened his credentials as ‘vishwa guru’, yet again. PM Modi’s advice to Putin that this is not the era of war not only grabbed global headlines but also earned support from world leaders in the United Nations and other global forums. Achieving what the UN itself couldn’t do, PM Modi’s initiative has opened a window for early resolution of the Russia-Ukraine war. A related story on an inside page deals with India’s rising clout in world affairs. Focusing on India’s upcoming presidency of multilateral world bodies, our report says the reasons for this are not far to seek. A changing global context, a more transactional world and China’s assertiveness has increased India’s pool of friends. Added to these is the increasing influence of PM Modi as a world leader, says our report. Another report explains how the Modi Government’s foreign policy has been recalibrated to address the needs of the changing geopolitical dynamics and mastering the art of balancing between the Quad and the SCO.
The introductory ‘G20 Podium’ carries a report about the hectic preparations for the annual summit scheduled to be held in New Delhi next September. The other report is about the Government plan to host 215 meetings in 55 locations across India with a view to giving a big push to tourism in the country.
