MUMBAI: Property registrations crossed another high in Mumbai prior to Diwali, between November 1 and 10.
The mood in the business capital’s real estate market reflects the country’s faith in the stability and steady growth in its economy.
Defying higher mortgage rates and prices, more than 4,800 properties were registered in the first 10 days of November alone, which translates into more than 40 per cent of the average monthly registrations in Mumbai, according to reports quoting data from the Maharashtra Inspector General of Registrations and Stamps.
Blitz India had earlier shared how property registrations in Mumbai had crossed 10,000 in October, highest in 11 years for a month, a 21 per cent increase over the corresponding period last year. The October registrations had 80 per cent residential units, according to official data.
With bumper sales in the festive season, real estate players are looking forward to closing 2023 with best-ever annual registration volumes in the last decade. Rs 354 crore was garnered by the revenue department as stamp duty by November 10.
Film stars with interest in the real estate or disposing sundry properties have made news in recent times.
Celebrated actor Ranveer Singh is said to have sold two apartments in Goregaon for Rs 15.25 crore. He had purchased them in December 2014 for Rs 4.64 crore each, reported Moneycontrol.
The 1,324-square-feet-each apartments are located in the Oberoi Exquisite, a high-end residential complex in Goregaon East in Mumbai and have a total of six parking spots, it added.
