NEW DELHI: Calling upon the people to take pride in the achievements of the nation, VicePresident Jagdeep Dhankhar said India will be at the top of the world when it celebrates the centenary year of Independence.
Inaugurating a day-long national conclave on ‘Mann Ki Baat’, ahead of the 100th edition of the monthly radio programme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said the programme will be the foundation of ‘India @100’.
Addressing the concluding session, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said ‘Mann Ki Baat’ is an unprecedented experimentation that empowered the foundations of India’s democracy. It is very important event in which the PM appreciates the achievements of the people who are contributing to India’s growth, he said.
I&B Minister Anurag Thakur said the programme was unparalleled in reach and popularity and hailed it for giving recognition and brand value to local arts and artisans.
Bollywood actors Aamir Khan and Raveena Tandon, and para-athlete Deepa Malik were among those who attended the conclave. “That is how you lead by communication…It’s an important communication that happens in ‘Mann Ki Baat’,” said Khan Besides celebrities, the event was attended by many of those who have been mentioned by the PM in various episodes.
