Team Blitz India
LONDON: Describing the UK-India relationship as a “force for good”, British Home Secretary James Cleverly expressed the belief that both nations can collaborate to prevent conflicts from spreading and affecting other parts of the world.
Speaking at the India Global Forum’s 6th annual UK-India Parliamentary Lunch at the House of Lords, Cleverly highlighted the significant intellectual prowess of India, emphasising its growth.
Cleverly noted that India’s intellectual capacity spans a wide range of areas, including potential future pandemics, non-communicable diseases, opportunities and risks associated with artificial intelligence, financial services, and sustainable agriculture.
He said that he was optimistic about the positive impact of coordination and cooperation between the UK and India in various sectors.
He emphasised the enduring military relationship between India and the UK, stating that strong and longstanding partnerships are crucial for coordinating security and preserving peace in a turbulent world.
Cleverly was quoted in a press release by the India Global Forum as saying, “I hope that together, demonstrating strength of purpose, demonstrating a commitment to democracy, and demonstrating a willingness to defend our values, the UK and India can work to prevent conflict spilling over and engulfing other parts of the world.”
