NEW DELHI: Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri met UK National Security Adviser Jonathan Powell and Deputy NSA Matthew Collins in London, where the two sides discussed ways to advance the India–UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The talks on November 4 covered key global and regional security issues, as well as cooperation in critical and emerging technologies under the bilateral Technology Security Initiative.

Misri also engaged with leading scholars and foreign policy experts at the Chatham House think-tank. During a discussion on ‘What does India want from the world?’, he outlined India’s foreign policy priorities, strategic partnerships, and its evolving view of the global order. “At Chatham House, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri discussed ‘What does India want from the world?’ with UK scholars, focusing on India’s foreign policy priorities, strategic partnerships, and its perception of the current state of the world order,” the Indian High Commission said in a statement.

The visit of the Foreign Secretary aims to build upon the momentum from the recent visits of the two Prime Ministers, it said. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s visit to Mumbai last month came soon after Modi’s UK visit in July when both leaders concluded the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), expected to significantly enhance the bilateral trade partnership from the current 44 billion pounds a year.
