NEW DELHI: THE Government of Nagaland has announced the United Kingdom as the country partner for the upcoming Hornbill Festival 2025, to be held from December 1 to 10 at Kisama, Kohima.
A formal agreement was signed November 17 by Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Country Director India, British Council, Alison Barrett, in the presence of British High Commissioner to India Lindy Cameron, and senior representatives from both sides in New Delhi.
Under the partnership, the British Council, working with the British Deputy High Commission in Kolkata, will curate meaningful programming for the festival, including bringing an artist from the UK to participate in the festival. A Tourism Department official said that the Nagaland Government has also named Switzerland and Ireland as country partners for the festival, marking a major milestone in the festival’s growth into a global cultural event. The announcements came following separate meetings with the envoys of Switzerland and Ireland in New Delhi on November 18.
Nagaland CM and the Ambassador of Switzerland to India and Bhutan, Maya Tissafi, officially announced Switzerland as the Country Partner for the Hornbill Festival. The Hornbill Festival, widely known as the Festival of Festivals, continues to grow as one of India’s most vibrant cultural platforms, bringing together communities, artists, visitors, and partners from across the world.
