MUSCAT: During the recent Omani Youth Day celebrations organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sport, and Youth, Oxy Oman received recognition for its steadfast contributions to youth programmes in the Sultanate.
The event, held at Al Mouj Muscat and presided over by Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports, and Youth, was attended by Basil bin Ahmed Al Rawas, Undersecretary for Sports and Youth at the Ministry of Culture, Sports, & Youth. Steven Lauver, President and General Manager of Oxy Oman, attended alongside senior executives from the company.
Oxy Oman’s support for various high-impact youth-centred initiatives in Oman, including its strategic sponsorship of the Oman Youth Center, was highlighted during the celebration.
The Youth Center, an initiative by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth, is dedicated to developing integrated centres for Omani youth, with plans to expand across all governorates of the Sultanate. In the past year, the Youth Center has conducted virtual workshops, reaching over 20,000 youth beneficiaries, including young Omani entrepreneurs, across Oman.
Expressing enthusiasm about Omani Youth Day, Lauver stated, “We’re excited to celebrate Omani Youth Day and humbled to receive this award as recognition for our years of support for youth development, from sports and wellbeing to youth entrepreneurship, as well as cultural and arts appreciation”.
