THE dynamism imparted by the Government and the corporate sector and the confidence exuded by the people have propelled India into a sustained, highgrowth trajectory. The new success story being scripted by India is there for all to see, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Spotlighting India’s achievements at the ET World Leaders Forum in New Delhi, PM Modi said while the global economy grew by 35 per cent over the past decade, India’s economy surged by nearly 90 per cent during the same period.
“This is the sustained growth we have achieved, the sustained growth we promise, and the sustained growth that will continue into the future.” emphasised the Prime Minister.
Continuity of reforms
PM Modi said the Government in its third term was working three times faster than before, with even stronger determination. He described today’s India as a land of opportunities that respects wealth creators. India, he said, should aim to lead in every global sector and reassured the business community that the Government would continue implementing reforms and driving economic growth.
“Our promise to you is that we will facilitate, and your promise should be to innovate. Our promise is to reform, and your promise should be to perform. Our promise is to provide a stable policy regime, and your promise should be to create positive disruptions. Our promise is to focus on high growth, and your promise should be to focus on high quality,” the Prime Minister said.
“Think big, as we have many success stories to write together for the nation,” he declared.
Global South growth
In today’s fast-changing world, he said, the Government’s policies are dynamic, focusing on the future rather than the past. He expressed India’s desire for a world order that supports inclusive development, particularly for the Global South. “We believe in a world order that ensures inclusive development for all, and especially for the Global South… Bharat is emerging as the voice of these countries, guided by the spirit of ‘Vishwa Bandhu’,” said the PM.
He further said the aspiration of Bharat becoming a global manufacturing hub is not of every Indian alone but is the expectation of the entire world. “Today, you can witness a revolution taking place across the country towards this goal,” he stressed. India’s MSMEs, he said, are receiving an unprecedented level of support. Plug-andplay industrial parks are being established in cities, and economic corridors are being developed.
