LONDON: A special screening of much-anticipated film Ajey was held here, receiving an overwhelming response from the audience. The screening witnessed a full house, with attendees queuing up eagerly to secure tickets – a testament to the movie’s growing impact and resonance among the Indian diaspora in the UK. The highlight of the event was the presence of renowned author Shantanu Gupta, who came from the United States to attend the London screening. Ajey is inspired by Gupta’s acclaimed book The Monk Who Became Chief Minister, which narrates the inspiring life journey of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Incredible enthusiasm
The London initiative was brought to life through the efforts of Dr Vivek Kaul, supported by Mahendra Singh Jadeja, Acharya Abhi Yogi, and Hirdesh Gupta of Indian Diaspora in the UK (IDUK). Dr Kaul said, “It was an honour to host this great event and showcase the struggles and tribulations of Yogi ji in a state which previously saw complete lawlessness and hyper-corruption. Yogi ji has fought hard to bring Uttar Pradesh into a governable state.”
Hirdesh Gupta added, “The Indian diaspora showed incredible enthusiasm to watch the movie on a Monday – a working day – and that too in central London.” Adding to the evening’s spirit, Acharya Abhi Yogi enthralled the audience by singing ‘Jo Ram ko laye hain…’, evoking patriotic fervour and devotion.
Prominent personalities The screening attracted several prominent personalities from the Indian community in Britain, including Mr. Kuldeep Shekhawat, President of OFBJP UK; Suresh Mangalagiri, General Secretary of OFBJP UK; Ram Ji Vaidhya from HSS; Madhuresh Mishra of FISI; and Didi Surya Prabha of Brahmarishi Ashram, among many others. The evening celebrated not just cinema but also cultural connection, leadership, and the shared values of the Indian diaspora that continue to strengthen the India-UK bond.
