Survey shows Abu Dhabi quality of life improves

NEW DELHI: The results of the sixth cycle of the Quality-of-Life Survey for 2025 has highlighted improve ments across key social indica tors, according to Abu Dhabi’s Depart ment of Community Development (DCD).

The DCD also launched the sev enth cycle of the survey for 2026, which will run for three months and aims to continue gathering feedback from the community.

The survey recorded increased com munity participation, with respondents rising from 51,413 in 2018 to 115,801 in 2025, reflecting growing awareness of the importance of contributing to policy and service development.

Results showed strong social cohe sion indicators, with satisfaction with so cial relationships reaching 75.8 per cent and family life 78.4 per cent, up from 70.9 per cent the previous year. A total of 94.1 per cent of respondents reported feeling safe walking at night.

In the housing sector, satisfaction reached 71.5 per cent, marking an im provement and reflecting the quality of residential infrastructure.

Personal well-being indicators also improved, with the average happiness score rising to 7.88 out of 10, while satis faction with work-life balance increased to 51.1 per cent from 46.8 per cent.

DCD said the survey plays an impor tant role in shaping social strategies and initiatives in Abu Dhabi. Over the years, the findings have been used to develop programmes that respond to community needs and improve overall quality of life.

Aref Al Hammadi, Acting Director-Gen eral for Strategic and Digital Affairs, said, “The Quality of Life Survey represents a key tool for capturing the community’s voice in Abu Dhabi and supports data driven decision-making. The results re flect strong engagement and trust, while highlighting areas for improvement that we continue to address.”

He added, “We invite all members of the community to participate in the sev enth cycle, as every voice contributes to building a more cohesive society and enhancing quality of life for current and future generations.”

Abu Dhabi continues to rank among leading cities globally in quality of life, supported by a strong focus on safety, infrastructure and public ser vices. The emirate also offers a range of lifestyle and recreational options, along with advanced healthcare and education systems.
