The Health Ministry said on March 25 that 1,590 cases of Covid-19 have been registered in the country in a day, thehighest number in 146 days. The number of active cases of infection has increased to 8,601.The daily positivity was recorded at 1.33 percent while the weekly positivity was estimated at 1.23 percent.
According to the latest data, the death toll due to Covid has climbed to 5,30,824 with six more deaths – three in Maharashtra and one each in Karnataka, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand.
The Government is on an alert mode vis-a-vis spike in coronavirus cases. According to the latest data, 220.65 crore doses of anti-Covid vaccines have been given so far across the country, and other measures are being taken to avert the spread of the infection.
