NEW DELHI: Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on July 20 held discussions with UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri on strengthening the India-UAE partnership across trade, investment, tourism and connectivity, while exploring new opportunities to deepen the two countries’ strategic economic ties.

In a post on social media platform X, Goyal said he had a productive meeting with Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri and the accompanying delegation, during which both sides reviewed avenues to further expand bilateral economic cooperation.

“Had a productive meeting with Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism of the United Arab Emirates, along with the accompanying delegation,” he said in a post.

The Minister said the discussions focused on enhancing collaboration in trade, investment, tourism and connectivity, reflecting the growing momentum in the India-UAE strategic partnership. He added that both countries reaffirmed their shared commitment to unlocking new opportunities for businesses, strengthening people-topeople ties and advancing their strategic economic partnership.

“We discussed avenues to further strengthen the India-UAE partnership across trade, investment, tourism and connectivity, while reaffirming our shared commitment to unlocking new opportunities for businesses, enhancing people-to-people ties and advancing our strategic economic partnership,” the Union Minister explained.

The meeting comes as India and the UAE continue to deepen economic engagement under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), with both nations working to boost bilateral trade, investments and cooperation across key sectors.

Meanwhile, Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravati on July 21 and discussed the proposed establishment of a food cluster in the state.

The state Government said that a decision has been taken to establish a value chain for exporting various horticultural products—including mangoes, bananas, and cocoa—to international markets. An agreement for establishing a food cluster was reached at the World Economic Forum meet at Davos early this year.
