NEW DELHI: Underlining the Centre’s efforts and commitment to water conservation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 30 said that the 60,000 AmritSarovars built during the AzaadikaAmritMahotsav, have already emerged as shining landmarks and 50,000 more are in the works.
‘Mission AmritSarovar’, launched last year, is aimed at developing and rejuvenating 75 water bodies in each district of the country as a part of the celebration of AzadikaAmritMahotsav (75 years of the country’s independence).
“More than 60 thousand AmritSarovars built during the ‘AzaadikaAmritMahotsav’ have emerged as dazzling landmarks, while the work on building 50,000 more is ongoing,” PM Modi said.
