NEW DELHI: India is at the forefront of handling climate change and global warming, with the country making rapid progress through various green initiatives, Union minister for education, skill development and entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan has said.
“India has taken a leadership role with initiatives such as Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI), Infrastructure for Resilient Island States (IRIS) and International Solar Alliance (ISA),” Pradhan said at the ‘International conference on environment, climate change and renewable energy, 2023’, media reports said on May 6.
“In the 2021 UN Climate Change Conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the mission, ‘Life’, to focus on individual behaviour at the forefront of global climate change. The NEP (National Education Policy) 2020 also stresses climate consciousness from a very early stage,” the minister said.
The conference provided a platform to share latest research findings, opinions, suggestions and visions, through discussions, keynote addresses and paper presentations.
