NEW DELHI: More than 6.64 crore jobseekers have registered on the National Career Service (NCS) portal since its inception, with 2.89 crore active jobseekers currently on the platform, an official statement said on August 5.

Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said in the Lok Sabha that the NCS portal has evolved into a one-stop digital platform offering employment-related services, including job search and matching, career counselling, vocational guidance, information on skill development programmes, and details of government and private sector job opportunities, according to the statement issued by the Ministry of Labour and Employment.

According to the Government, over 10.05 crore vacancies have been mobilised on the portal since its launch, of which 17.68 lakh are active vacancies as of July 15.

The ministry said the platform has been upgraded to a cloud-based, open-architecture system and is being continuously enhanced using new technologies. Recent upgrades include AI-powered job matching, skill-gap analysis, personalised job recommendations, an AI interview coach, multilingual support through Bhashini, cloud-based applications for employers and jobseekers and improved verification mechanisms.

To strengthen employment opportunities, the ministry has entered into public-private partnerships with more than 40 organisations that include agreements with companies and platforms such as APNA, Swiggy, Rapido, Zomato, Amazon, TCS iON, Quikr and FoundIt (formerly Monster).

In addition, the NCS portal has also been integrated with several government platforms, including Udyam, eShram, Skill India Digital Hub, EPFO, ESIC, DigiLocker and other databases.
