Team Blitz India
NEW DELHI: India could be considering participation in the latest global environmental initiative – the G7-piloted ‘Climate Club’ pathway for stronger climate action. Inter-ministerial discussions are soon likely to be initiated on the same.
The environment ministry is preparing to consult various ministries on sectoral implications involved in case India were to join the Climate Club.
Up for discussion will also be additional measures, if needed, across sectors towards aligning with Climate Club goals on policy as well as the strategy and technology front.
“The latest version of the Climate Club is an interesting and flexible one and we are studying it closely,” a leading daily said on May 8, quoting an official.
