Path chosen by Blitz India is a difficult one, says SGI

TUSHAR MEHTASolicitor General of India

It is indeed a historic day in the faculty of law today. There are several legal journals in India. But this is possibly the only journal which will have its print edition and digital edition both.

There was one person who was considered as the father of journalism. He used to deliver one lecture in every college of journalism that if a dog bites a man it is not news but if a man bites a dog then it is news. If you can understand the difference between the two, you will become a true journalist.

We are, unfortunately, in an era where it is believed that if you do not read newspapers you are uninformed, but if you read newspapers you are illinformed. People nowadays choose to become ill-informed than become uninformed. Friends, it’s very difficult to enter into the arena of developmental journalism. It has always been easier, popular, has been in vogue, to remain anti establishment.

Spread nation’s’ work

To become a rebel without a cause gives you publicity and popularity. But to spread the enormous work being done by our nation is very difficult. The path which has been chosen by Mr Dwivedi is really a very difficult path.

We are in an era where India is no longer a country of snake charmers. We are in an era where the country is being looked upon by all countries of the world to lead us in several facets of human life.

India is progressive. India is succeeding. India is making its presence felt since last about seven to eight years. Imagine a situation where we get a little glimpse of what India really has become in the past few years. If each and every work done by our nation under the able leadership of our honourable Prime Minister reaches every individual, it is not going to be the publicity of a political party, but it’s going to infuse a sense of confidence amongst each and every citizen that India is no less than a superpower.

It’s this responsibility which lies on the shoulders of positive journalists, who do developmental journalism.
