Sanjay jogPolitical Party leaders at the Bharat@2047 session at the National Legislators’ Conference here on Saturday said there is an urgent need for electoral reforms and work hand in hand to combat climate change, curb culture of freebies and avoid attempts to exclude people based on community, caste and religion.

Maharashtra NCP chief Jayant Patil in his address Today India ranks 161st in world press freedom index, 126th in world happiness index, 132nd in human development index and 121st in world economic freedom index. This data reflects where we as policy makers must focus more and put its efforts into. The India I envision at its centenary shall not only respect the freedom of speech but also celebrate it. I believe in prioritising press freedom and building a media ecosystem that ensures transparency, unbiased publications and broadcasting, increasing public participation.

‘’In 2047 India should stand at the forefront of global happiness and human development. A nation is built by its citizens and the all-round such as physical, mental and emotional well-being of the citizens should be given importance. I believe in empowering individuals to unleash their own potential while making

opportunities for their growth available. While considering the economic freedom in the nation, we must first work on bureaucratic red tape, stimulate job opportunities, and encourage foreign,’’ noted Patil.

Former Union Home Minister and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Sushilkumar Shinde said there is a need to correct mistakes committed in the past and weather all odds in a serious bid to further strengthen the democracy and legislative system.

BJP leader Pasha Patel made a strong case for the protection of agriculture and environment.
