Stability Continuity & SPEED

PM Modi's mantra for the third term

Deepak DwivediLIVING up to his pre-election promise, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told the nation that he will fulfil the people’ mandate for stability and continuity with greater speed in his third term.

“In our third term, we will work with triple the speed. Our third term means we will put in thrice the strength. In our third term, we will ensure three times the results,” he told members of both the Houses of Parliament.

Replying to the two-day debate on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address, PM Modi said the people had seen the dedication with which his Government served them for 10 years. PM Modi made it clear that that despite the Opposition lies and disruptions, no hurdles will deter his development plans. “Their activities are to stop the country’s progress and derail development. I am warning them… This country will not tolerate anti-national conspiracies,” he said.

Retains upper hand

If there were any doubts that the Congress-led issueless Opposition would manage to slow the triumphal march of the Modi 3.0 Government, PM Modi’s reply dispelled those. He evaded none of the issues raised by the Opposition – from NEET paper leaks to Manipur crisis – but retained an upper hand and laid out the roadmap for his Government’s pro-growth, pro-people and pro-reform plans for Viksit Bharat.

PM Modi time and again reminded that what the NDA led by him had achieved in returning to power for the third time was historic. “After Independence, this has happened the second time, and after 60 years,” he pointed out. He also referred to the state elections held simultaneously, and which the NDA had won, after registering victories earlier in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, and mentioned the states where the BJP had made inroads.

“There are polls in Maharashtra, Haryana and Jharkhand soon. We got more votes in these three states in the Lok Sabha elections than we got in the Assembly polls there,” he reminded. The PM also invoked the Emergency that was imposed by the Congress in 1975. “You are the biggest opponent of the Constitution and ran a fake narrative to mislead the public,” PM Modi charged, as he launched an all-out attack on the Opposition party, which staged a walkout along with its allies.

Modern infrastructure

PM Modi’s address to Parliament also reiterated his Government’s firm resolve to fulfil the objective of constructing modern infrastructure, 30 million houses for the poor, and empowering women self-help groups. He said his Government would work towards making India the world’s thirdlargest economy, ushering in a green era, and creating both employment and self-employment opportunities. A recent study, he noted, had shown private-sector jobs in the country at an 18-year high.
