Zaiwalla & Co hosted a special lunch to commemorate the unveiling of the portrait of I Stephanie Boyce, the first black and ethnic minority President of The Law Society of England & Wales in its nearly 200- year history.
The special event at The Law Society not only celebrated Boyce’s transformative leadership but also reflected on how effective leadership is fundamental in promoting diversity within the legal profession. It brought together senior luminaries, including the Chair of the Bar Council, the Chief Executives of the UK Supreme Court and The Law Society, Lord Toby Harris, Lord & Lady Dholakia, Vanessa Bousardo (VP of the Paris Bar Association), Andy Vickery (Global Head of Finance at Linklaters) and Amy Rogers KC.
Boyce delivered an inspiring speech about her historic presidency and her commitment to meaningful change during global challenges. Zaiwalla & Co senior partner Sarosh Zaiwalla remarked, “To have Stephanie’s portrait hanging in the Law Society Reading Room is a symbol of progress in the ongoing drive for a legal profession that is truly representative of our diverse society.”
Thanking Sarosh Zaiwalla, Boyce said, “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Zaiwalla & Co for honouring my legacy with this gathering. It was humbling to share this space with such an impressive group of individuals, united by a shared commitment to creating a kinder, more equitable world. My special thanks to Sarosh Zaiwalla for hosting it, a steadfast supporter and champion of my work, and to Freya Zaiwalla for orchestrating the gathering”. Zaiwalla & Co, which remains dedicated to fostering equity and representation in the legal sector, said, “We are honoured to host this event and celebrate the impact of Boyce’s transformative leadership.”
