KEEPING in mind Prime Minister Narendra Modi’ vision, the Pushkar Singh Dhami Government, with the help of the Centre, has decided to upgrade Uttarakhand into the biggest weddingvenue state.
This was decided here recently at a meeting between senior officials from the Centre and those from the state.
Dubbing it as PM Modi’ ‘dream project’, officials said the Himalayan state has a huge potential to develop into an amazing marriage destination owing to its fascinating landscapes and geographical locations in Garhwal and Kumaon regions.
A team of top Central Government officials directed the state officials to prepare a roadmap to identify the suitable locations to build attractive wedding venues.
Officials said there may be several wedding destinations in places like Dehradun, Mussoorie and Haridwar, but there is a need to build new venues in hills and other rural areas to elevate the state into a full-fledged wedding-venue state.
