NEW DELHI: MUMBAI: Dr Batra’s Foundation hosted its annual flagship exhibition, Magic Moments, here recently. Inaugurated by Bollywood actor Shekhar Suman, the 56the edition of the exhibition featured Padma Shri Dr Mukesh Batra’s collection of photographs of iconic landscapes from the lands of the North Pole.
Speaking at the opening day of the five-day exhibition, Dr Batra, said “This exhibition, inspired by the majestic and fragile beauty of the North Pole, is not only a showcase of photographs but also a reminder of the urgent need to protect our planet. The ‘click before you miss’ moments in photography resonate deeply with the ‘act before it’s too late’ call for our environment.”
Actor Shekhar Suman said “I am delighted to be part of an event that not only celebrates the breathtaking beauty of our planet but also champions a meaningful cause. It’s inspiring to see how Dr Batra’s Foundation uses art as a medium for social change.” Javed Ahmad, former Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, praised Dr Batra’s zest for life, his passion for photography and the cause of supporting visually challenged children. Farzana Contractor, Editor, Upper Crust, said, “This was one of Dr Batra’s best works. The detailing in every photograph that he has captured is amazing.”
Magic Moments, over the years, has held a significant place in Mumbai’s cultural calendar, not only for its artistic appeal but also for its noble purpose. Supported by Nikon, the exhibition once again demonstrated the power of art to inspire compassion. The proceeds from the exhibition will go towards The Victoria Memorial School for the Blind.
