NEW DELHI: PRIME Minister Narendra Modi has said the Budget Session of Parliament, marks the beginning of a decisive phase for India’s growth, with the next 25 years being crucial for achieving the goal of a developed nation by 2047.

Addressing the media outside the Parliament on July 25, PM Modi said the President Droupadi Murmu’s address to a joint sitting of Parliament, reflected the confidence of 140 crore citizens and the aspirations of the youth. He added that the guidance outlined by the President should be taken seriously by Members of Parliament, making the session an important one for the country’s future direction. Highlighting the importance of the session, PM Modi said, “This Budget Session marks the completion of the first quarter of the 21st century and the beginning of the second quarter. The coming 25 years are vital for building a developed India.”

PM Modi highlighted the recently concluded India-European Union Free Trade Agreement as a major development, describing it as an opportunity for Indian manufacturers, farmers, fishermen, and service-sector professionals to access global markets. He urged industry leaders to focus on quality while expanding their presence in international markets, saying competitiveness and standards would determine India’s long-term impact in Europe.

Reiterating the Government’s governance philosophy, the Prime Minister said, “The identity of this government has been Reform, Perform and Transform. The nation is moving rapidly on the Reform Express.” He added that India is shifting from long-pending problems to long-term solutions, which enhance predictability and global trust. Emphasising a human-centric approach to development, PM Modi said, “While India will compete with technology and absorb its power, we will never compromise on human-centric systems.” He also noted that even critics acknowledge the government’s focus on last-mile delivery of schemes.
