Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 30 interacted with secretaries to the Government of India at Seva Teerth, urging them to strengthen inter-departmental coordination through wider use of the PM GatiShakti platform and focus on the tangible impact of Government schemes on citizens’ lives.
The interaction centred on two key themes — ‘Deregulation and Other Reforms for Ease of Doing Business and Ease of Living’ and ‘Promoting Aatmanirbharta’.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of adopting a whole-of-Government approach and breaking departmental silos.
The secretaries outlined the initiatives being undertaken by their respective ministries and departments in line with these priorities. They also discussed sector-specific challenges, ongoing reforms and future strategies to improve governance and public service delivery.
Highlighting the role of integrated planning, PM Modi encouraged wider utilisation of the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan as an effective platform for inter-departmental coordination, infrastructure planning and informed decision-making.
He also stressed that ministries should focus on ensuring Government schemes deliver measurable and meaningful benefits to people on the ground.
The meeting was attended by Cabinet Secretary TV Somanathan, the Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary PK Mishra, Principal Secretary Shaktikanta Das, the Secretary of the Department of Military Affairs, and secretaries of key ministries and departments.
The interaction was among the first full-secretary-level meetings chaired by the Prime Minister in the current financial year and was aimed at aligning the bureaucracy with the government’s policy priorities for the second half of 2026.
